Smart Thermostat

This is just a conversion from a two wire thermostat to a smart thermostat with no other wires available like the C- Common wire.
Solution? Install an external 24vac transformer and connect one wire to Common connection. The other wire depends on the configuration:
For furnace heating only – power to RC and C
For AC only – power to RH and W1
This is only to power up the smart thermostat when there’s just two wire available to use from the old thermostat. And this will make the wi-fi running on the device for you to control.
But you have to remember that this is only for just two wire connections. And you cannot control the fan as they are probably hard wired at the furnace/AC unit. Not both.
So, if you need full control, install and layout the 5 or 6 wire cable.
Good luck!

Simple Few Tips on Google Pixel 10
It’s quite a hassle to navigate a Google Pixel 10 phone, here’s some quick tips I found:
- Accessing the WIFI connection
- Just tap and hold for a second on the upper right hand corner
- The menu will come up to change the Wi-fi settings
- You can also see the flash light control (On/Off)
- To access the (at a glance) apps settings, hold your two fingers together and slide from the upper middle top (main page). The settings menu will show up.
- To remove the open applications, slide from the bottom up (similar to iPhone) to show all the opened applications. You can remove each one by the same way.
- To install a new applications, just enter the (app name) install and search from the google bar.

How Skipping Breakfast May Be Harming Your Mental Health
The habit of skipping breakfast is common, but its impact on mood, focus, and overall mental well-being is worth considering. The science isn’t black-and-white: some studies link regular morning meals with better mood and cognitive performance, while others find no strong effects once you account for lifestyle factors. Here’s a balanced look at why breakfast might matter for your mental health, what the research suggests, and practical steps you can try.
What the science says (in plain terms)
– Mood and energy: Some research shows people who consistently eat breakfast report lower levels of irritability, anxiety, and depressive symptoms, especially in relation to energy and alertness during morning tasks. But the relationship is not universal; factors like sleep quality, overall diet, and stress levels often play bigger roles.
– Cognition and attention: For some individuals, breakfast improves attention, working memory, and reaction time, particularly in the morning or after long gaps between meals. Others show no meaningful difference. Individual variability is high.
– Metabolic factors: Skipping breakfast can cause blood sugar fluctuations in some people, which can influence mood, hunger, and energy levels later in the day.
– Sleep and circadian rhythms: Irregular meal timing, including skipping breakfast, can be linked to disrupted circadian alignment for some people. Circadian misalignment is associated with mood disturbances and sleep problems.
– Population differences: Children and adolescents show clearer links between breakfast consumption, mood, and school performance. Among adults, results are more mixed and often confounded by overall diet quality, sleep, physical activity, and stress. How skipping breakfast might affect you (potential pathways)
– Blood sugar and energy: A long overnight fast can lead to lower morning glucose. For some, this translates to fatigue, brain fog, and irritability until you eat.
– Hormonal signals: Breakfast can influence hunger hormones and cortisol rhythms. Irregular eating patterns might blunt or disrupt these signals, affecting mood regulation.
– Neurotransmitters and mood: Food provides building blocks (like tryptophan and other amino acids) used to make mood-related neurotransmitters. Skipping meals could influence these pathways for some people.
– Sleep-quality interaction: If skipping breakfast is part of a broader pattern of inconsistent sleep or late-night eating, mood and cognitive performance can suffer due to sleep debt and circadian disruption. Who should be especially mindful
– People with mood disorders or anxiety who notice morning symptoms: If you consistently feel low energy, foggy thinking, or irritability in the morning, breakfast timing could be a lever to test (in consultation with a clinician if you have a mental health condition).
– Those with blood sugar sensitivity or diabetes risk: Breakfast can help stabilize morning glucose and energy. If you have metabolic concerns, work with a healthcare provider to design a plan.
– Individuals with irregular schedules or shift work: Meal timing becomes a part of circadian management. A regular, well-balanced morning meal can support stability.
Practical tips to test whether breakfast helps you
– Start simple and consistent: Try a balanced, easy-to-prepare breakfast for 2–3 weeks straight (protein + fiber + healthy fat, e.g., Greek yogurt with berries and nuts, or eggs with whole-grain toast and avocado).
– Pay attention to mood and cognition: Note how you feel mentally and physically in the morning and mid-morning with breakfast vs. no breakfast.
– Choose quality meals: Favor whole foods over ultra-processed options. A breakfast with protein, fiber, and healthy fats tends to promote steadier energy.
– Hydration and caffeine: Start with water or tea before coffee. Caffeine on an empty stomach can heighten anxiety or jitters in some people.
– Sleep sleep sleep: Prioritize consistent sleep; good sleep often amplifies the positive effects of a regular breakfast on mood and focus.
When to consider skipping breakfast (and when not to)
– Intermittent fasting with purpose: Some people find benefits from time-restricted eating patterns. If you’re exploring this for mental health or metabolic reasons, do so thoughtfully and ideally under guidance, monitoring mood, energy, sleep, and overall well-being.
– If you’re naturally not hungry in the morning: Some individuals do fine with a late-morning or lunch-first pattern. The key is overall nutrient intake and mood stability across the day.
– If you have a history of eating disorders: Breakfast timing can be sensitive. Seek guidance from a clinician or dietitian who specializes in eating disorders before making changes.
What to do next
– Experiment slowly: Pick one variable (e.g., protein intake at breakfast) and adjust for 2–3 weeks before making bigger changes.
– Prioritize a balanced start: Aim for meals that combine protein, fiber, and healthy fats to support steady energy. – Consider broader lifestyle factors: Sleep quality, physical activity, caffeine, hydration, and stress management all influence mood and cognitive function.
– Seek professional help if needed: If you have persistent mood concerns, anxiety, or depressive symptoms, consult a healthcare professional for a personalized assessment.

What the New Trade Deal Really Means for Small and Local Businesses
What the deal changes that matter for small and local businesses
– Tariffs and market access
– Potential reductions or eliminations on certain goods exported to or imported from the US/Canada.
– Possible new quotas or phased tariff reductions; impact depends on your product mix.
– Rules of origin and sourcing
– New origin criteria to qualify for tariff preferences; may require changes to suppliers, materials, or packaging.
– Implications for cross-border supplier networks and nearshoring options.
– Services and cross-border trade
– Better access for service firms (IT, design, marketing, logistics) to operate across borders.
– Streamlined processes for digital trade, e-commerce, and cross-border payments.
– Regulatory alignment and standards
– Harmonized or compatible standards can simplify compliance (labeling, safety, environmental, labor).
– Could require updates to certifications or testing regimes for certain products.
Digital trade and data
– Provisions to ease cross-border data flows with privacy protections; potential impact on data localization requirements.
– Easier e-commerce logistics and digital documentation (invoices, certificates of origin).
– Intellectual property and branding
– Stronger protections and clearer enforcement for brands, designs, and software used in cross-border sales.
– Investment protections and dispute resolution
– Clarified protections for small investors and clearer paths for resolving trade disputes.
– Procurement and government contracts
– Access to government procurement markets or streamlined processes for small businesses bidding on public projects.
– Labor, environment, and compliance guardrails
– Commitments to labor rights and environmental standards; potential audit or reporting requirements.
– Border processes and logistics
– Modernized customs procedures, faster clearance, and smoother cross-border shipments for small shipments and e-commerce. Who benefits (and who might face costs)
Beneficiaries
– Small exporters with goods that meet origin rules and tariff preferences.
– Service providers serving cross-border clients (consulting, IT, marketing, logistics).
– E-commerce and digital services firms that rely on smoother cross-border data flows.
– Potential costs or challenges
– New origin documentation, labeling, or testing to qualify for preferences.
– Compliance overhead (record-keeping, audits, supplier onboarding) and potential costs to adjust supply chains.
Some sectors could face increased competition if barriers for foreign rivals are reduced. Key questions to answer for your business
– Do my products qualify for tariff preferences under the new deal? What are the origin rules?
– Which inputs or suppliers must change to meet origin requirements?
– Will my inputs or outputs require new labeling, testing, or certifications?
– How will the deal affect my supply chain costs, lead times, and inventory planning?
– Are there new opportunities in cross-border services, digital trade, or e-commerce?
– What new documentation will I need at export/import (certificates of origin, conformity assessments, etc.)?
– Is there government support (export programs, advisory services, grants) I should leverage? Actionable steps to take now – Map exposure – List top products/services that cross the US–Canada border; note current tariffs and potential changes.
– Check eligibility and compliance
– Identify which items qualify for preferences and what origin criteria you must meet.
– Flag any labeling, testing, or certification updates needed.
– Reassess suppliers and inputs
– Consider nearshoring or diversifying suppliers to meet origin rules and reduce risk.
– Update contracts and pricing
– Build potential tariff impacts and compliance costs into pricing; include origin documentation timelines.
– Plan for cross-border operations
– Explore export assistance, market access programs, and digital trade provisions that reduce friction.
Leverage support resources
– Engage with government trade agencies, small business development centers, chambers of commerce, and industry associations.
– Pilot and measure
– Run a small cross-border activity or supplier reconfiguration to test costs, lead times, and customer response before scaling.
Two quick angles you can use if you’re writing about this
– Angle 1: “More markets, fewer barriers: how a new US–Canada deal can unlock growth for small businesses” — highlights expanded access and smoother cross-border services.
– Angle 2: “From origin rules to labeling: practical steps every small shop must take to stay compliant and competitive” — focuses on concrete compliance and cost considerations.
A new US–Canada trade deal could reshape how small and local businesses reach customers on both sides of the border
Tariff preferences, clearer rules of origin, and stronger protections for cross-border services could lower costs and expand opportunities. But the benefits hinge on whether firms adapt: understanding eligibility, adjusting supply chains, and tightening compliance practices will determine whether the deal delivers real growth or just headlines.

Will Artificial Intelligence (AI) replaced our jobs?
Yes and No. The possibility of AI impacting jobs is a complex and evolving issue. AI has the potential to automate certain tasks, which can lead to changes in the job market. Some roles that involve repetitive or routine tasks may see automation, while others that require creativity, critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and complex problem-solving are less likely to be fully replaced. It’s important to consider that AI can also create new job opportunities and enhance existing roles by providing new tools and capabilities. The overall impact on employment will depend on various factors, including how organizations adopt AI, government policies, education, and workforce adaptation. To prepare for these changes, staying adaptable, acquiring new skills, especially in tech-related fields, and focusing on areas where human expertise is irreplaceable can be beneficial. The goal is to work alongside AI to augment human potential rather than be replaced by it.
These are the jobs with a possibility to be replaces:
- Newbie Software Developers – especially those with no experience and just started
- Clerks – can be done by the AI digital assistants
- Factory workers – it is already happening on most car assembly plants, when robotics replaced people
Even Stock Traders – seems AI has the advantaged due to processing speed. There are some tools that are doing that, like Kraken.
